Hi friends… I’m so honoured to share a little piece of my heart with you today. This December, I’ll be releasing a new book that means more to me than I can say. It’s a gentle, coming-of-age story about two young girls growing up in the city — learning who they are, who they’re becoming, and how love (especially from a grandmother) can shape us in the most steady, beautiful ways.

This book is for those who are just beginning to find their voice…And for all of us who remember what it felt like to grow up in a city that felt too big, in a body that was changing, in a world that sometimes felt confusing but full of promise.

The City Between Us is my hope to reach out to youth who are becoming who they are, taking those first brave steps into themselves. And I hope it also touches the hearts of all of us who remember those years — the friendships, the feelings, the dreams, and the city streets that shaped us.

If a grandmother has ever loved you… You already know how much of a foundation that gives a child. If you’ve ever grown up in a city… You know it becomes part of who you are. And if you’ve ever stood between who you were and who you’re becoming… this book is for you.
